TREND: Sun's Out, Guns Out! - College Fashionista
Please check out my article at CollegeFashionista! Like and comment on it, all your support is always appreciated! (:
erryone, this is my girlfriend’s tumblr that she uses for collegefashionista.com, where she is a reporter for the savannah college of art and design. you should check out her work - like it, tumbl it, put it out there as much as you can - it helps her out professionally. also, that guy? that’s me. so it is (somewhat) relevant to my blog.
like it, reblog it, do what you can with it! it’s one of the very few exceptions i will make to posting things with no relevance to running. you should too. thanks!

here’s that interview on fam i said i’d find! my teammate sent it to me via facebook a long, long time ago … i’m super jealous. to this day.
shortshortsandshoelaces-deactiv asked: The fact that you know that "run like hell" is fam's thing makes me really happy :)
anthony famiglietti is such an awesome guy, i LOVE seeing a professional athlete run with that kind of personality. a couple of my teammates know him personally, met him at the airport in eugene and caught a ride with him to their hotel the day before the olympic trials back in 2008. if that’s not ridiculous enough, fam tossed one of my teammates his headband right after winning the steeple and qualifying for beijing. and if THAT’S not ridiculous enough, he mentioned bumping into them in an old interview on flotrack about making the sport better. i’ll dig it up and post it right now, actually.
fam was my first big running idol (besides pre) and i maintain that man-crush to this day.
fam!
it’s simple, really.
and here's that article on wanjiru i promised.
sweat and tears! and faith. bobby andrews. 2011 ncaa outdoor 800m champion. what a kick.
whoa man. solinsky is intense. this is shortly after dropping out of the 10k @ the pre classic. dude is PISSED. it’s very motivating in a very sick way to see someone this angry after a poor race. solinsky will be fine. mo farah pulled away to a 26:46 meet record which also stands as the british record for the time being, if you haven’t heard. let’s just see how solinsky rebounds - i wouldn’t want to race him next.
two really big pieces of information, just fyi - apparently the men’s 800m at ncaa’s was EPIC. letsrun doesn’t even want to report who won it just yet! somebody won this mutha in 1:44.71, i have GOT to find a video. for me. maybe i’ll show it to you. maybe.
also, biggest news of the day as far as i’m concerned, medical experts from wanjiru’s home in kenya have concluded that his death was the result of foul play. so so SO much to say about this, i’ll find the article and post it up and let you decide for yourselves. this news is contradictory to wanjiru’s estranged lover’s wife’s prior conclusion to the cause of death, as her lawyer publicly stated that upon an initial investigation, his injury patterns were consistent with a fall from that height. a two-story balcony. two-stories. dead. right. do you guys smell that?
… i thought so. i do too.
i’m baaaaaack. at least for the time being. i’m home in columbus for a little bit.
went stomping through some tall grass in the heat of the day (that’s 99 degrees to anyone who thinks it’s hot where they’re from) for five miles today. it’s never too hot for a(n) (easy) run. i think i’m done with physical therapy. and the alter g. i say this because i’m 250 miles from my physical therapist. training is training.
but i must say this to anyone who doesn’t already know: grass. love it, smoke it, run on it. find as much grass as you can and run on it. run on it often. bouce a golf ball on some grass or hard sand. now bounce it on concrete. now imagine that that golf ball is your kneecap. i know, right? grass is definitely an underrated topic of discussion concerning injury prevention and rehabilitation. but i’m not a doctor, run on some and figure it out for yourself.
also, gatorade’s post-game recovery beverage? don’t. just don’t. eat some peanuts and drink some water. or try, you know, oldschool gatorade. but never this garbage. leave it on the shelf.
hiatus?
college students sometimes have to couch surf. pack up and move on in life without internet. temporarily.
that is the case with me. i’ll be back soon.
keep running.
never did mention KD at rome!
… and if you haven’t heard by now, he won. convincingly. his first european win since 2006. clocked a 1:45 with a come-from-behind effort at the golden gala. now he’s on the start list at the pre classic. goosebumps!
also, he’s 34 years old. NICE.
and in the spirit of rupp mania … .

rupp mania
looks like galen rupp’s a late entry to the 10k this friday at the prefontaine classic. the meet is a tune-up between kenyans and ethiopians and he’s the only one with enough gumption to represent the states. i like! oh by the way, he scratched the 2-mile just to enter this meet. outdoor nationals are in a few weeks, so salazar may pull him to keep him fresh and allergy-free… but the weather seems to indicate that this won’t be the case. galen rupp sub-27 new AR. you heard it here first.
